ABOUT
Why?
The Olive Branch Botel seeks to bring relaxation, space, and community collaboration to Oregon’s premiere wine country.
Who?
Owners Lisa Bakke and Mary Gregoire began crafting this idea around 2019. It was born from our annual “sister trips”, and a dream to create an oasis in a small town that would contribute to the community by both bringing tourism to the city and by uplifting the existing businesses. More than just starting a business, we are striving to be part of a new way of doing both business and life. We share a philosophy to be open to unconventional business methods that allow all people to express their creativity. We are committed to begin our searches for unique ideas in non-mainstream arenas as a way to amplify voices, seek eco-friendly solutions, and harness the power of collaboration with local businesses (wine community, restaurants, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, etc.) and, especially, minorities and women-owned businesses.
What?
The Botel is located at the south end of Dundee’s 13 block Commercial District, between the Purple Hands Winery tasting room and The Dundee Hotel. At the front of the 0.64 acre 1959 house converted to six business spaces. In 2022 the Hwy 99w improvement project was completed so that the city of Dundee now has sidewalks, street lamps, and landscaping throughout the Commercial and Central Business Districts. The exterior of the front building will be updated with new colors, landscaping, front entry, business/building signage, and an organized parking lot. Future development of the The Olive Branch Botel: Preparation of the back half acre is scheduled to begin by August 1, 2024. There is an existing outbuilding which will be converted to an event/community center, which will have a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, storage/laundry space, and an inviting outdoor living space to use for small events (wine tasting, wine release pickup, community offerings, small weddings, etc) 4 individual shipping container units will comprise the self check-in lodging.
